The digitization of health services in Mexico, particularly through the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS), has led to the emergence of the "Receta Médica Electrónica" (Electronic Medical Prescription). However, a parallel demand exists for the so-called —a digital template that mimics the official format but allows user modification. This paper analyzes the legal validity, risks (including forgery and pharmaceutical fraud), and technological alternatives to editable prescriptions. It concludes that while editable templates offer convenience for practice, they lack official IMSS validation (QR codes, digital stamps) and their use constitutes a legal violation under the Ley General de Salud .
