Hidden Figures (2016) is a biographical drama based on the true, untold story of three brilliant African-American women working at NASA who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history: the safe launch and return of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Set in the 1950s and 1960s during the height of the Space Race and the US civil rights movement, the film follows their journey of overcoming rampant racial and gender discrimination to help America win the race to space.
