This is the game's most unique feature. Out of combat, your dialogue choices directly affect a hidden meter called "Brave's Resolve." If you act overly cynical or arrogant, the party’s Resolve drops. When Resolve is low, characters will refuse to use their ultimate abilities in battle. To raise it, you must perform "Campfire Scenes"—optional vignettes where you choose who to talk to at night, learning their traumas and fears. This mechanic forces the player to treat the party as people, not just stat blocks.
