Set during the decline of the Maya Empire, the film follows (played by Rudy Youngblood), a peaceful tribesman whose village is raided by a powerful war party. He is taken captive to the great city, where he witnesses human sacrifice, political decay, and a terrifying solar eclipse. The film’s second half is a breathless sprint through the jungle as Jaguar Paw fights to return to his pregnant wife and son, who are trapped in a deep sinkhole.
