Post-WWII Netherlands saw a rise in animal protagonists (like Minoes the cat or Dolfje Weerwolfje the wolf-boy), but Jappo stood out because he was unapologetically wild. He didn’t want to be a pet or a human. He wanted to navigate a human-dominated world on his own terms.
