The conflict arises because 64-bit versions of Windows utilize a subsystem called "WoW64" (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit) to run 32-bit applications. While this works for most software, JInitiator faced a critical failure point: browser integration. A 64-bit browser cannot natively load a 32-bit plugin.
